For part (c), please define "permanent infiltration feature" in the context of this credit. Also, please provide examples of features that can or cannot be counted as a "permanent infiltration feature".

Ruling

A permanent infiltration feature is designed to manage precipitation that falls directly on it and also precipitation that falls on other nearby areas that are transported to the infiltration feature. This is different from vegetation counted under part (a), which is designed only to manage precipitation that falls directly on it. The feature must be located on-site and not be considered temporary in nature. Infiltration features include, but are not necessarily limited to, vegetated swales, rain gardens, dry wells, rainwater cisterns, retention ponds, and wetlands. The rater may use his/her discretion in deciding if a feature qualifies as an infiltration feature. A rater may choose to request additional verification materials, such as design documents / calculations that show that the infiltration feature is designed to handle a 2-year, 24-hour design storm.
