If a project earns LEED for Homes certification, can it re-submit for certification at a higher level at a later date? If so, what are the conditions for re-certification?
All projects seeking re-certification must submit a request to USGBC. Projects that have already been LEED certified may be re-certified at a higher level, on the following conditions: 1) the project must submit for re-certification within 12 months of the original certification; 2) all information in the re-submittal must be correct and verified by a Green Rater in accordance with LEED for Homes requirements. If any changes have been made that may affect envelope leakage, duct leakage, air flows, etc., follow-up performance tests and an energy re-rating may be required;3) the project must pay a certification fee to USGBC; 4) the project registered prior to 2/2/2014.
Updated 10/1/13 for rating system applicability.
