The USGBC has released a memo on verifying FSC-certified materials. Can this memo be amended for use on LEED for Homes projects? (see attached)
"The original memo has been revised for LEED for Homes. See “LEED Memo for Homes with revisions” for marked up copy. See “LEED Memo for Homes with revisions accepted” for clean copy. Major differences include:
• References to material cost are removed, since LEED for Homes calculations are not based on cost.
• Instead of requiring projects to identify all wood on a line-item basis, only wood that is FSC certified must be identified on a line-item basis. This is in keeping with the streamlined paperwork approach of LEED for Homes. Identifying non-FSC wood on a line-item basis would be prohibitively expensive for projects."
Updated 10/1/13 for rating system applicability.
