Should credit be awarded if a significant amount of PVC material is replaced with PEX material? Should credit be awarded if a significant amount of HDPE material is replaced with PEX material? Should credit be awarded if a significant amount of ABS material is replaced with PEX material?
Ruling
Yes - PEX is preferred to PVC. 2) Yes - HDPE is preferrred to PVC. 3) No - ABS is not preferred to PVC. In all cases, credit will only be awarded if the quantity of material is significant (comparable to components that are currently awarded credit in MR 2.2). Also, credit will only be awarded if it can be shown that PVC is the industry-standard material used for a given component.
