Inquiry

When our project was originally registered for LEED certification, it was registered as one (1) building since it was two (2) enclosed building volumes connected by a common roof. Since then, the roof system had to be re-designed due to a budget over run which became evident after the bidding phase. The roof redesign required the deletion of the portion of the roof which connected the two building volumes and resulted in the project being two (2) buildings instead of one (1). Everything else in the design has stayed the same, including the siting and gross square footage of the enclosed spaces. The project was bid as one building package so the Contractor did not seperate out costs, materials or construction waste independtly. The questions are: Can we continue with the certification process as one (1) large building since the square footage did not change?
