We are preparing for LEED certification a service station which has an open service area, carwash and a retail store. We would like to confirm if it is correct that we consider our project as a Retail & Service establishment as our standard for a baseline and modelling for efficiencies or should we consider it as something different? And if it would be accepted if we exclude in our process the fueling systems as these can not be modified?
Yes, "retail & service" is the correct project type. However, this should be besides the point when establishing your energy model. Energy used to run fuel pumps is considered process energy (unregulated load). For future inquiries of this type, first ask LEED customer service before choosing to submit a CIR. Applicable internationally.
