For horizontal pipe runs that run through wood studs, can the credit be met if the pipe is only insulated between the studs - so oversized holes are not needed to accommodate the insulation?
Ruling
There are no exemptions made, but the credit should be awarded if it is satisfied for at least 90% of domestic hot water piping. Project teams are still encouraged to make sure the insulation does butt up against the stud, so as to minimize heat loss.
