The MR TASC has issued rulings on waste wood scraps that are donated (MR 03-28), waste wood that will be used as Wood Derived Fuel (MR 03-29), and waste that will be used as alternative daily cover (MR 03-30). Please clarify the following:
In general, please note that the credits for diversion strategies are meant to be rough estimates (not exact percentages) of the values provided by the different diversion strategies. In the next version of the Rating System, the TASC would like to change the point allocation so that more points are awarded for reduced waste generation, and fewer points are awarded for diverting waste from landfill / incineration.Why is wood derived fuel rewarded at half the rate of diverting to other uses?
