Carpet The carpet, which is covering 85% of the 75,000 sq. ft. floor plate will be Shaw\'\'s Green with Envy with EcoColutionQ yarn and Ecoworx backing. We will be applying for Credit MR4.1 and Possibly MR4.2 based on the recycled content of this and other materials, however we would like to apply for up to three Innovation Credits relative to this product. First, the carpet is fully recyclable; the manufacturer has a process in place to take the carpet back, separate the face fiber form the backing and recycle each back into face fiber and backing. Second, the carpet has 16 factory applied spots of releasable ahesive, that are fully cured when installed, therefore eliminating the use field applied carpet adhesive. Third, this product\'\'s total weight is approximately 44% less than a typical carpet tile product.

Ruling

Innovation credits are awarded during the certification, not through the CIR process. This ruling is provided as guidance toward the likely outcome. Innovation credits require comprehensive strategies resulting in achievement above and beyond existing LEED credits, and a maximum of one point per strategy is awarded (rather than three, which you are hopeful for). Carpet emissions are already addressed by EQ Credit 4.3. Adhesives are already addressed by EQ Credit 4.1. The product will also contribute to MR Credit 4. The product has many high performance attributes, but with this many opportunities for the product to contribute to existing points, an innovation credit is not likely to be awarded.
