Could you please clarify the submittal requirements for LEED 2.0 SS Credit 6.2? [1] The LEED 2.0 June 2001 reference guide requires only drawings and specifications for this credit submittal. However, the Word document that we received as part of our project registration packet calls for drawings, specs, AND CALCULATIONS. [2] To add to the confusion, the June 2001 reference guide has example calculations for only Credit 6.1, NOT 6.2. At the same time, though, Credit 6.2 is referring to percentages of TSS and TP, so I would assume that a calculation of some sort would be necessary.
For most cases NO calculation is required. The BMPs identified in the reference standard list a range of efficiencies that are dependent on the project implementation. In most cases the simple narrative recorded in the LEED Template will suffice to demonstrate the suitability of the selected BMPs to the project specifics, and a calculation is unnecessary. In unusual implementations, an engineering calculation would be needed to demonstrate the achievement of the required reductions of TSS and TP. This calculation is beyond the capability of the current spreadsheet tool and so there is no worksheet provided in the LEED Calculator. Applicable Internationally.
