Hazardous material abatement will occur as part of this rehabilitation project. There are no legal recycling options for these hazardous materials. Are the abated materials included in the total weight of construction and demolition waste when calculating the percentage of recycled and/or salvaged waste?

No. Hazardous materials (such as asbestos and lead) that are required to be removed from your building or site can be excluded from your materials waste calculations. You should include confirmation in the credit narrative that the materials are not listed in the landfilled material data because they are indeed hazardous and there is no possibility for recycling or salvage.
