In reference to the ASTM reflectivity test for the white roof, which labs are able to perform this test. We have found labs that can do the emissivity test on the white calcite ballast that we wish to propose as an alternative to an Energy Star roof in the same fashion as was mentioned in CIR 1/21/2002 for SS CR7.2 but no lab so far has been equipped to perform the reflectivity test on the proposed material. We are located in Montreal Qu

On the contrary, the Energy Star roofing standard contains reflectance requirements, and the standard\'s specific performance criteria are explicitly stated in the LEED Reference Guide. The compliance method you refer to is one in which a larger surface area is used to make up for a less reflective roof surface in order to achieve an average that meets the LEED performance requirement. You will need to demonstrate this performance and thus testing is necessary. For laboratory locations, USGBC refers LEED users to ASTM\'s lab directory on www.astm.org. The LEED-NC Version 2.1 Reference Guide (page 60) states that in addition to the ASTM E903 standard, Energy Star allows measurement with a portable solar reflectometer. Follow the methodology in Energy Star\'s "Eligibility Criteria" document for determining initial and 3-year solar reflectance (www.energystar.gov/ia/partners/product_specs/eligibility/roofs_elig.pdf).
