Interpretation request - Innovation in Design: Natural Light sensors & dimmers. This project has 4 buildings. Buildings A-B and C-D are identical. These buildings will be let to tenants in spaces of 250 m2 or multiples of that number. The four buildings have natural light sensors in the perimeter of the building to control the electric lights ambient in relation with the natural light intensity. All Luminaries are fluorescent lights TC-L 2x36 W HFR to provide average levels of 400 -450 lux. Lighting electronic and adjustable ignition devices in all of them. In the perimeter working areas of each building (within a distance of 4,57m of the fa
The USGBC encourages all strategies and measures that will reduce energy consumption, including natural light sensors and dimming controls cited above. The strategies proposed in this inquiry should be applied towards total building energy optimization under EA Credit 1: Optimize Energy Performance. Since the proposed concept is already covered under an existing LEED credit, an innovation credit will not be awarded. The design team should use this energy savings strategy towards obtaining points under EAc1. Applicable internationally.
