Our project involves a Visitor Center at a National Park. The Park currently has a single centralized storage location for recyclables. This storage facility is located approximately 1/4 mile from the Visitor Center. Recyclables are routinely collected by the maintenance staff from the individual facilities within the Park and taken to the centralized storage location. Our intent is to place several recycling collection retainers both inside and on the plaza area adjacent to the new visitor center building. (Most of the recyclable materials will result from the patrons and not from the employees. Also most of the patron\'s time is spent waiting for tours on the plaza outside the structure.) The Park would like to utilize the current remote storage area. Does this arrangement meet the intent of the prerequisite?
Your strategy is consistent with the intent of this prerequisite, assuming that all of the required recyclable materials are addressed, and that the capacity of the collection area is sufficient to accommodate all of the generated material. The project team should provide a detailed narrative to describe the recycling collection program, along with documentation showing the location of the central collection center in relation to the project site.
