Raised Floor Innovation Credit, Raised Floor: At the time this project was enhanced in terms of its sustainable goals (1999), CAEEC Block 225 had no underfloor air distribution system. The design team made the decision to include raised floor as a green goal because it was felt that this method of delivering air would contribute to better energy savings and improved IAQ. It was also viewed as innovative by the client, the State of California. Question: Will this strategy be acceptable for submittal as an innovation credit given the time when it was conceived?
The LEED Reference Guide (July 2001) clarifies the applicability of innovation credits on page 275. "There are two types of innovation strategies and measures that qualify under this credit...those strategies and measures that greatly exceed the requirements of existing LEED credits
