This inquiry is related to the Materials & Resources Credit for Recycled Content (MR Credit 4). We are researching furniture partitions for our system furniture that would be used in all of MDO?s office space. The furniture partitions contain recycled content. Would this furniture count in the calculations for recycled content under MR Credit 4 ?

No. Per Inquiry #0213-MRc31-101201 for MR Credit 3.1, furniture systems are not considered to be part of the building fabric, and thus do not contribute to the building\'s material cost budget. Achieving points for the benefits of recycled content in furniture systems should be pursued through an innovation credit. Applicable internationally.
