We want to know whether our project would achieve EQ Credit 7.2 (permanent temperature and humidity monitoring system) although humidity monitoring systems are not necessary in this region. Even though humidity monitoring and controls are not being installed, the credit\'s intent is still met (providing a thermally comfortable environment). Using this approach, will we receive this point?
IEQ Credits 7.1 and 7.2 work together. LEED Version 2.1 states that Credit 7.1 is a precondition to earning Credit 7.2. Credit 7.1 is achievable if the project team demonstrates how air flow control mechanisms and the local climate deliver thermal comfort compliant with the referenced standard, ASHRAE Standard 55-1992, Addenda 1995. Based on the stipulation that your project earns Credit 7.1, the installation of humidity monitoring equipment is still required to achieve Credit 7.2. Note that some credits are simply not applicable to all projects. Applicable internationally.
