The intent of the credit is to increase the percentage of buildings using renewable power. The renewable energy credit is currently structured to reward projects for producing energy on-site. If the owner could demonstrate a long term commitment from the energy provider in the form of a contract that garauntees renewable power at 10% of the total delivered power, the committee has indicated that this meets the spirit of the credit and would qualifiy for a credit equivalence.
