Are you able to tell me how to find out (from the Energy Star homepage maybe) what the benchmark for a particular building would be? Or would one have to play around with the benchmarking tool to find out what the consumption numbers would have to be in order to get a certain score?

The Energy Star Benchmarking Tool is primarily for use on projects that have historic data on energy consumption. It is possible to enter energy use predictions generated from another energy model as the baseline data and obtain an Energy Star Rating. Applicable internationally.
