The Stata Center project is on a very large site with three existing buildings on it - one of these is an existing parking garage. Two buildings will be demolished, one a former three story academic building and the other the parking garage. The third building required some partial demolition however we have salvaged and will integrate at least 75% of this building into the existing complex. The question is can we take the Building Reuse credit? We can provide more information if required.
The reuse calculation requires the existing building(s) structure and shell to be included in the denominator of the reuse ratio. From the description provided it appears that more building is being demolished than is not, and thus the project would not be able to capture this credit point. Applicable internationally.
