We are reviewing a lab building design for sustainability, and are finding that there are strategies we would like to pursue that don\'t seem to be covered by LEED. For example, we would like to look at reducing dioxins,VOC\'s, and other toxins. One obvious way is to delete the VCT currently shown at all lab floors. We also want to go to products that do not use formaldehyde. This credit only addresses adhesives, sealants, and paints....
This approach is in the spirit of the Criterion, and you should make an application for Credit Equivalence using the appropriate form. If you are taking a comprehensive look at all materials and feel you are going well beyond convetional practice, apply for an innovation credit to capture a second point. Applicable internationally.
