If a project has a garage where two or more sides comprise walls that are at least 50% open to the outside, (meeting ASHRAE 62.1-2007 Table 6-4 Minimum Exhaust Rates note C), would the project still be eligible for EQ 10.2 without providing continuous exhaust, which is required in part d of the credit?
Ruling
Garage exhaust is not required for projects to meet EQ10.2 d) ‘Exhaust Fan in Garage’ if two or more sides of the garage comprise walls that are at least 50% open to the outside, in accordance with ASHRAE 62.1-2007, Table 6-4 Note C. All other measures of the credit must still be met.
