What are the terms for earning the pilot credits? Does the project have to meet all of the requirements of the credit to be awarded the point?
Any project can earn a pilot credit. Pilot credits may be awarded if the following criteria are met: 1) the project registers online (http://www.usgbc.org/credits/homes/v2008/pilot-credits) to use the credit; 2) the credit requirements are all met and verified; and 3) the project team completes and submits the survey to USGBC. The project is also expected to participate in the online forum to discuss the merits of the credit.
If a project tries to earn a pilot credit, but finds a flaw or significant and unreasonable challenge with earning the credit, a separate IDR may be submitted explaining the project team's findings. Depending on the project's findings, USGBC may still award the credit even if all of the credit requirements were not met.
