Inquiry
For part (c), does the requirement to use water-resistant flooring within 3 feet of an exterior door still apply if a 6-foot overhang exists over the entry door?
Ruling
The presence of overhangs does not exempt a project from this part of the prerequisite. The intent of this prerequisite is to reduce the use of materials that will absorb moisture and facilitate mold growth. Having an overhang does nothing to address moisture coming into the home from shoes, rain gear, etc.
