SS 4.3 (d) requires design by “a licensed or certified landscape design or engineering professional”. What are examples of certifications that are acceptable? For example, the Watershed Management Group offers a nine day course leading to a “Certified Water Harvesting Practitioner” See: http://www.watershedmg.org/certification. If this is acceptable, are there other certifications that are acceptable?
Verification team members should use their discretion in deciding whether or not the certification is offered through a reputable organization and seems to reflect a significant level of understanding in the topic area. But at a bare minimum, any training must include all of the following: (1) at least 40 hours of training; (2) at least some in-field experience as part of this training (i.e., the training cannot all be done in the classroom), and (3) an exam or assessment, which must be passed before certification is issued.
