Inquiry
For mid-rise buildings, particularly mixed-use buildings, in some cases Title-24 requires the non-residential spaces to be modeled separately from the residential spaces. In these cases, does LEED for Homes require a separate whole-building model for LEED certification?
Ruling
If a building is modeled in parts for the purposes of code compliance, it is acceptable for LEED for Homes to simply combine the results (i.e. energy consumption estimates) of the various energy models created for code compliance.
