Can projects with demonstrated tight predrywall duct leakage test results be except from having to test again when construction is complete?
Projects that achieve 3 cfm/100sf of total duct leakage at predrywall are waived from meeting final testing, granted that they follow EPA ENERGY STAR for Homes Policy Record ruling 00340. This ruling requires the entire HVAC system to be in place (less installed registers and the surface the boots are sealed to such as drywall), and requires that at final inspection that all duct boots are visually verified to be sealed to the finished surface.
