The minimum separation distances do apply to kitchen exhaust and combination kitchen/bathroom exhaust ports, but it does not apply to bathroom-only ports. There is also the following exemption: No minimum separation distance shall be required between windows and local exhaust outlets in kitchens and bathrooms. This is an update to an earlier ruling.
