NC-v4 MRc1:Building life-cycle impact reduction

Including racks in the assessment

According to Option 4: can I include in the assessment metal racks in a warehouse? Obviously, they are not a part of construction of the building, but because of its large quantity it seems reasnoable to iclude their impact.

Hi Agnieszka, according to the v4 Step-by-step-Guidance "additional building elements, such as interior nonstructural walls or finishes, may be included", so I think you probably could include them, but do not need to. If you do, you would increase the absolute environmental impacts of your baseline and your proposed building. As I understand it, the design decisions would then have to reduce the absolute environmental impacts more in order to achieve the required relative reductions. So, from an environmental perspective it´s reasonable to include them, for achieving the credit maybe not.
