As you might have seen from my op ed last week on BuildingGreen.com, I’m convinced that just voting is not enough; we all need to do all we can to improve our chances of success in this election. My wife Janice and I have been writing get-out-the-vote letters using Vote Forward as our platform. I thought it might be fun, and productive, if we got a group together on Zoom to write a bunch of letters together. (I know that others are using a similar system with postcards, which is also great. Maybe someone can offer another night for postcard writers to join forces.)
If you’re available next Tuesday and would like to join, here’s what you need to do:
1. Sign up for an account with Vote Forward. Do this a few days before, because they have to authorize you before they let you in, and that might take a day or two.
2. Be prepared with:
- A printer to print out the letters
- Paper
- #10 envelopes
- Stamps
- A blue-ink pen
3. Join us on Zoom anytime between 8:00–11:00pm Eastern time on October 13. The “mail date” that forward has set is Oct 17, so we’ll have until then to prepare as many additional letters as we can.
If you don’t manage to sign up with Vote Forward in advance, join us anyway. Those of us who have signed up should be able to set you up with letters to prepare from our accounts.
