Low Carbon Concrete Specification

I am looking for example specifications for low carbon concrete to have our structural engineer(s) review and incorporate.  Does anyone have good examples or  link(s) to good examples?

Thanks,

Mark

We modeled our language on the documents created by CLF and BuildingTransparency. https://www.buildingtransparency.org/en/ec3-resources/ec3-downloads/ I haven’t had a project bid using that language yet, so can’t report on results. For a new project, I’m trying to work with the structural engineer to select some low-carbon mixes early in design and build the spec around those. I highly recommend the Marin County Low Carbon Concrete Project's resources as a starting point, if you haven't seen these before:  https://www.marincounty.org/depts/cd/divisions/sustainability/low-carbon-concrete-project The sample specification and resources were a collaboration with CLF, Arup, and many others.  Our understanding is that these are modest but important moves toward reducing carbon in concrete mixes, particularly through cement reduction.  We have not specifically implemented this yet at SERA, but we are currently working on incorporating much of this into our specifications.  In parallel, we're also doing a bit of outreach in our own markets with the structural engineers, contractors, and batch plants we frequently work with to help our project teams head off any potential anxieties that might emerge by adopting this approach into our standard spec.   Hope this helps!
