Women- and/or minority-owned furniture providers

Hi all --

We have a national restaurant client who is looking to source furniture (indoor and outdoor) with a minimum of 40% recycled/salvaged content from a woman- and/or minority-owned company.  They have a strong preference for a company that partners with/participates in community outreach and/or mentoring programs.  They also have other sustainability criteria, including wood sourced in the US, etc.  They have a pretty robust expanision program over the next year or two so this could be a great opportunity for a smaller, less-well-known company that meets their criteria and could handle the projected volume.  If anyone has any recommendations, please send them my way.  Thanks!

And thanks also to Allen and Chris (I thought you'd responded through the SDL group, but I realized I posted twice on Green Gurus since there was a posting issue).  All these responses were shared with the client.  It's a pretty sad state of affairs when there are so few companies that meet their criteria.  Hopefully in the future, there will be more!

I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for or what the demand is, but I love this organization and they have beautiful furniture.  Full disclosure, I sit on their board. http://cpfurniture.org/

Thanks, Kimberlee.  What a great organization.
