Our CI project is not doing an energy model, but using the prescriptive method (AEDG). What is the acceptable way to determine the Total Annual Consumption to confirm uses above the 10% that should be metered?

That is not a requirement for CI projects. You only have to submeter energy sources so you don't need to break it down by end use.

Mmmmm. For Option 2 Advanced Metering it states including 'any individual energy end uses that represent 10% or more of the total annual consumption of the tenant space' It is the total annual consumption that we are trying to define without an energy model.

Hi, did anyone get an answer to this? If there is no energy model, can we make an assumption on what end uses will be more than 10% (i.e. receptacles, lighting, heating, cooling, fans)

I don't know how you determine it without an energy model. So I would assume that projects without an energy model are not eligible for Option 2. You can always try to make the assumption and see if the reviewer will buy it.

Projects pursuing this credit using the prescriptive path (i.e. no energy model) ARE eligible to pursue this credit under Option 2. In the "Step-By-Step Guidance" section of the ID+C Reference Guide for this credit (pg 182), it states "Projects that followed a prescriptive pathway for EA Prerequisite Minimum Energy Performance (Option 2) should use historical data from buildings with similar design and operational characteristics." Further, under the "Further Explanation" section (pg 184), it states "If the project team does not conduct energy modeling to comply with EA Prerequisite Minimum Energy Performance, the end uses to meter can be estimated by referencing the Commercial Building Energy Consumption Survey (2003) End-Use Consumption Tables for Non-Mall Buildings or End-Use Consumption Tables for All Buildings." Hope this helps.
