PLease confirm if we upgrade to LEED v4.1 there is no requirement for indoor bike storage facilities for either long or short term biking. My understanding the shorterm needs to be within 100' from the main entry and does not need to be covered. The longterm bike storage within 100' of any entrance and does not need to be covered.

LEED v4.1 increases the distances that can be traveled from bicycle storage: Short-term bicycle storage must be within 200 feet walking distance of any main entrance. Long-term bicycle storage must be within 300 feet walking distance of any functional entry. My understanding is that long-term spaces still need to be covered in LEED v4.1 in accordance with the USGBC glossary definition of long-term bicycle storage (parking that is easily accessible to residents and employees and covered to protect bicycles from rain and snow) https://www.usgbc.org/glossary#letterl Long-term spaces need to be covered but they do not need to be indoors.
