NC-v4 WEp2:Indoor water use reduction

Water efficiency requirements for appliances

Dear All,

Credit language of indoor water use reduction prerequisite includes requirements for appliances (dishwashers, clothes washers, etc). If appliances are not labelled by Energy Star, it is still possible to demonstrate compliance if its performance is equivalent to Energy Star requirements. Since Energy Star includes several requirements, can you please confirm that as this is an water efficiency credit, it is only necessary to demonstrate compliance against water efficiency requirements?

Thanks in advance.

Ricardo, for projects outside of the US where EnergySTAR is not available, the Reference Guide states the following:

"For appliances that require the ENERGY STAR label, a project outside the U.S. may install products that are not
labeled under the ENERGY STAR program if they meet the ENERGY STAR product specifications, available on the
ENERGY STAR website. All products must meet the standards of the current version of ENERGY STAR as of the date
of their purchase.
For appliances that require the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) label, a project outside the U.S. may
purchase products that have not been qualified or labeled by CEE if they meet the CEE product criteria for efficiency."
