We are certifying a Rec Centre that includes an indoor pool, in addition to a couple of gym spaces. Does the pool water use need to be included in the indoor water use prerequisite and credit?
What would the baseline water use for a pool be? In this situation would we need to work with the pool consultant to determine what an industry standard system would do and how ours is different or better?
Or can we leave this out of the water calc and maybe submit as an innovation credit if we are doing well enough.
Obviously we will have to do the same for the pool heating, exceptional calculation in the energy credit is my assumption.

Hi Penny,
Nope, the pool isn't included in the indoor water use calcs. It's really only for fixtures in restrooms, break areas, and similar. Best bet is to just follow the Ref Guide guidance for what's required.
For the energy use portion, you should post a question on the EA Pre 2 and/or Cr 2 page to get good feedback. You may also want to peruse the v2009 pages as I'm sure there are other projects with pools that have asked for guidance.

Thanks for the reply email. Even I was a little confused about it.
