NC-v4 MRc2:Building product disclosure and optimization - environmental product declarations

External Verification of EPD

Hi all,

I would like to ask what is the difference between EPD Process Certification and EPD Verification? As I can see in an EPD certificate as "Quality audit for the declaration and the information in compliance with ISO 14025:2006
■ EPD process certification □ EPD verification".

It also has a third party verifier so does it comply with external verification and fall in Product-Specific Type III category?

Thanks a lot.

Dear Hashir, EPD Verification is third party verification of Type III labels (EPDs) for individual or selected group of products, whereas EPD Process Certfication does the same but certifies the whole manufacturing operations so that any product coming out of that process is automaticaly certified. Tha latter is better option for companies with many products not for simlicity in managing the EPDs but also the cost. For your information, bot qualifies for the Product Sepecific EPDs.
