Can we install household appliances meeting the EU A +++ label in Africa or just in Europe

Hello everyone,

I hope you all be fine during Covid-19 pandemic time. Can projects in Africa (Mrococco) install household appliances meeting the EU A +++ label to replace energy star (instead of energy star) or is this solution only possible for projects in Europe?

I will appreciate you help as usual, many thanks,

Hi Sara,  From the Reference Guide, "For appliances that require the ENERGY STAR label, a project outside the U.S. may install products that are not labeled under the ENERGY STAR program if they meet the ENERGY STAR product specifications, available on the
ENERGY STAR website. All products must meet the standards of the current version of ENERGY STAR as of the date
of their purchase.
For appliances that require the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) label, a project outside the U.S. may
purchase products that have not been qualified or labeled by CEE if they meet the CEE product criteria for efficiency
." So, your Moroccan project should be fine installing residential appliances that meet the EU A+++ label provided the meet the equivalent ENERGY STAR product specs as mentioned above. I do not know of any other restrictions that are specific only to Europe.
