Cradle-to Cradle Claims

 Hi,

I think I already know the answer to this, but to claim Cradle-to-Cradle credits on a manufactured product, the product as a whole has to be tested and not just the major component that has the certification. Correct?

Thanks

Bobby

Hi Bobby, This seems like an odd situation, since C2C typically certifies products, not components. Do you want to share what product, and what certified component, you're asking about? Regardless of what it is, can you list that certified component as a separate product in your documentation? That way you could count it.

Yes, certainly. We manufacture dry-erase markerboards that use Cradle-to-Cradle certified face sheets and MDF, but have a moisture-barrier backing (very light) and an aluminum frame (also light comparatively).  So I'm wondering if we can claim this as certification of our product, or maybe break it out as you mentioned. Thanks much for the reply. Bobby
