Our irrigation consultant has provided an irrigation calculation where the total irrigation area (approx. 5000 SF) is more than the total landscape SF (approx. 3000 SF). In my QC review before submission, I called this out, expecting the irrigation area to be equal to or less than the landscape area. They explained we have overlapping irrigation areas - there are trees irrigated with bubblers inside a mixed shrub area irrigated by a drip system – thus the areas around the trees are included in the SF for both. I have never come across this before. Is it ok that our irrigation area is larger than our landscape area or will this be a red flag for the reviewers? If it is a red flag, how can/should we approach the documentation?
