What are the mandatory major renovation activities that must be done to qualify for LEED NC for an existing building?

Curious to know if you got an answer to this question?

A Major Renovation is defined as:

"An extensive alteration work in addition to work on the exterior shell of the building and/or primary structural components and/or the core and peripheral MEP and service systems and/or site work. Typically, the extent and nature of the work is such that the primary function space cannot be used for its intended purpose while the work is in progress and where a new certificate of occupancy is required before the work area can be reoccupied."

I would guess that if the function of space can be used during construction and/or a new certificate of occupancy is NOT required, then it would not be considered a 'Major Renovation'. 

from the description above "HVAC/Electrical/Window Replacements" my guess is that this is a major renovation.
