NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performance

ALTERNATIVE COMPLIANCE PATHS FOR EUROPE

Hello,
In accordance with the ALTERNATIVE COMPLIANCE PATHS FOR EUROPE document, for pre-requisites and energy credits (EA Prerequisite: Minimum Energy Performance & EA Credit: Optimize Energy Performance), the document states that:

  • Certain European standards are accepted to replace requirements of the ASHRAE 90.1-2010 Mandatory Provisions
  • Refer to the LEED v4 web-based reference guide (Further Explanation > International Tips > Europe) for further information on the regional alternative compliance path.

Where can we find the standards accepted by LEED?

Is the French energy standard accepted to justify the energy performance required by LEED and credits?

Thank You for you response Marcus. Energy studies must therefore be carried out according to the Ashrae 90.1. ? Can they not be carried out with a French energy standard? Vincent

The issue is - how does the French standard compare to 90.1 in terms of stringency - since the percent saving thresholds and the points are based on improvements from 90.1. This type of comparison of two different standards typically requires a study involving numerous energy models to compare the standards and determine a relative difference. It is a pretty involved process.
