For our project, we are planning on selecting the below two options:
- A comprehensive signage program built into the building's spaces to educate the occupants and visitors of the benefits of green buildings. This program may include windows to view energy-saving mechanical equipment or signs to call attention to water-conserving landscape features.
- An educational outreach program or guided tour could be developed to focus on sustainable living, using the project as an example.
For the second option, what is the difference between the Educational Outreach Program and the Guided Tour?

For an educational outreach program that doesn't tour the site, I can imagine a slide presentation, webinar, or video about the project that includes its sustainability aspects and is presented online, at public events, or in schools, for example.

Hi Lexi, I submit a copy of the tour script (essentially an description of each place the tour stops and what the tour guide will cover related to sustainability). If you plan to provide handouts/fact sheets to attendees, you could include a copy of that as well. Details about the frequency of tours, targeted or expected attendees, etc is also helpful to provide. For my LEED-EBOM projects I provide photos from at least 1 tour and a list of the attendees who joined.

Yes, building signage locations are often included as higlights along a guided tour route. Don't forget there is a requirement that each educational element be comprehensive, which means they address at least one credit or prerequisite in each category applied to the project. This includes IP and ID credit categories if pursued.

Is there a minimum requirement for the frequency of the guided tours? (e.g. once a quarter, once a year, etc.)

For NC/CS/CI projects, there's no required frequency.
We always generate a self-guided tour doc that has a floorplan, usually some images, and identifies various features throughout the building and site. Make sure you include something from each credit category.
