Pilot-Credits SSpc129:Comprehensive Composting

Required documentation for submittal

Hi everyone,

We are willing to attempt to this pilot credit but in de Submittals section at the Language tab, it says: "See guide tab for documentation requirements and guidance". And when we click on the Guide tab, it is empty.

Does anyone know what specific documentation is required for submittal?

Thank you for your time!

Hello,
the credit have next required documentation:
Site or floor plans indicating compost storage.
But our project is pursuing Option 1 (Regular compost collection and offsite processing) so, the question is, does anybody knows if we can comply  this required documentaction by a contract with a local hauler to pick-up organic waste from the project?

Hi Monica, We are purusing Option 1 for this Pilot credit as well. Even if you have a contract in place with a hauler, I believe you still need to provide a floor plan indicating where your compost will be collected and storaged prior to the hauler picking it up. I would suggest you provide both floor plans showing collection and storage as well as the contract you have with the hauler. Good luck!

Hi, we are also pursuing Option 1. Composting is actually mandatory in San Francisco for all residences and businesses. We have provided a site plan with the location of the compost bins and the estimated number of weekly pickups. I think this Pilot credit should fall into the Alternative Compliance Path for award in cities that have mandatory composting.

Although our city does not have mandatory composting, the option of using a private hauler is a step in the right direction.  We wonder if the private hauler scenario will provide better results than a region wide city model that requires composting. Perhaps a stronger emphasis in schools will help increase composting in residential applications.
