NC-v4.1 WEp1:Outdoor Water Use Reduction

WE Outdoor water reduction

Are potted plants and trees (in raised beds on outdoor covered terraces within the site boundary), counted as vegetated surfaces for this prerequisite?

I haven't seen any specific definitions or guidance on this question, but it sounds as though your planters are fairly large and permanent or semi-permanent, so I think you would include them. I think smaller potted plants that can easily be moved by hand would not be included.   Does that answer your question?

I agree with David's answer.....I do not believe there is any LI or addendum or CIR or reference guide correction/update out there that points to this specific issue.  The only reason I am posting is because we are currently involved with an urban project that has installed planters on the roof deck that are irrigated. We included them in our outdoor water reduction calculations.  My interpretation is the same as Mr. Posada's interpretation. If they are potted plants that are easily moved by hand then I would exclude them. If they are designed to be permanent and/or not easily movable then they probably should be considered landscape area and included. Great Post! and Great guidance David!!
