Retail-CI-v4 MRp1:Storage and collection of recyclables

Location of the recycling bins

Hi all;

I have a project at concept phase and we are determining the location of the bins;

We have no issues with having all the suggested bins i.e.  mixed paper, corrugated cardboard, glass, plastics, and metals.  We will also take appropriate measures for the safe collection, storage, and disposal of batteries and electronic waste.

However, our question is:
Do we need to have all bins together in one location within the project boundary? or can we have for example  mixed paper, corrugated cardboard near the printers and the rest near the cafe area?

Regards

Ricardo

Hello Ricardo,  You do not need to place all the bins together in one location within the project boundary. You can document as in the provided example.  Specially for Retails ID+C projects the recycling area should appear to sufficiently encourage waste separation within the retail space. Recycling areas should not be placed at back-of-house, behind the cash counter, and other places which is inconvenient and does not encourage recycling collection to retail occupants and customer.   Hope it helps. Thank you!
