I am working on a project where I must choose the materials for the MRc4 credit - LEED V3 (gold certification). However, as an architect responsible, I don't know if I should accept materials with 12.5% pre-consumer recycled material only. I mean, does a material with 12.5% pre-consumer recycled material would help in the certification process or it wouldn’t even be eligible for the LEED excel datasheet.

I read the credit definitions. I am not sure if, to be eligible, I should consider each material separately or the group of materials as a whole for the LEED excel data sheet counting.

“Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of post-consumer recycled content plus 1/2 of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% or 20%, based on cost, of the total value of the materials in the project.” (LEED® CANADA FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION AND MAJOR RENOVATIONS 2009/V3)
