Any way to exclude non-electrical consumption

The client wants us to pursue this credit with the hopes of achieving two points, for this project we are consuming both electricity and natural gas as per the energy model.  However, the client was hoping we can only account for electricity since they are not keen on purchasing carbon offsets for the natural gas consumption.  Is it possible to exclude the natural gas consumption input so that we can only provide offsite renewable power or RECs for the full electrical consumption?  Is there anything I missed when reviewing the handbook?
