My project has a balcony that projects away from the building, and does not provide a roof to an enclosed space for the building. How should the balcony be treated for this credit?

Should we include motorcycle parking spaces in our total parking count for the Parking Under Cover option?

Projects that provide covered parking are eligible for points under this credit, but what if a project provides no parking?

What if I need to have a material tested?

Hello, I have a doubt about the examplary performance of this credit.

In the project with I am working doesnt has a parking and I achieved the option 1, so at is says in the LEED guide:

"achieve both options 1 and 2. Locate 100% of parking undercover" 

May I suppose that I got the examplary performance cause I dont have a parking?

Hi Maria, I don't believe you're eligible for pursuing Opt 2 if you don't have any parking at all, which would therefore make the project ineligible for the Exemplary Performance for this credit.

Hello, Per LEED Interpretation 5370 (https://www.usgbc.org/leedaddenda/5370) a project building with no onsite parking facilities is eligible for 1 point under LEED v4 SSc Heat Island Reduction, provided that it doesn't rely on nearby offsite parking facilities. That means that the project may earn 2 points under SS Heat Island Reduction (opt.1 + opt.2). I can't figure out if pursuing opt.1 + opt.2 makes the project eligible for the exemplary performance for the credit tho. Can anybody help?

If a project does not have parking at all, including off-site parking, it is only eligible for 1 point under Opt 1.
