Bye for Now

Dear Green Gurus,

I both regret and am excited to tell you that I am leaving this group to pursue my next adventure.  I'm stepping down as Kirksey's Director of Sustainability, moving to Tucson, and starting my own business.  My business plan is to buy existing buildings, renovate them to net zero, and then sell or rent them.

I would love to keep in touch.  Here's how you can reach me if you want to:

Julie Hendricks

Chief Sage, Sage Building Revival

I would especially love to hear from you if you know anyone (including yourself) who is trying to do real estate development similar to my new project.

I can't overstate how much it has meant to me to be a part of this incredibly knowledgeable and supportive group of leaders!  I will miss everything about it.

Finally, I want to introduce my successor, Colley Hodges, Kirksey's new Director of Sustainability.  He's been to a few meet-ups, so some of you may know him already.  I know he's going to be great in his new role, and that he's a lucky person to find a home here with the green gurus.  You may get an intro email from him in the next few days or weeks, and he should be attending the Summer Summit.

Thank you for everything!

Your partner in saving the world, Julie

Julie: Wow! that's terrific. Talk about putting words into action. Very impressive! Bob Berkebile is doing some great development work with his acupuncture projects in KC. I don't think they are net zero but folks at BNIM would know. In any case, he's a great role model of walking the talk. good luck and stay in touch. You will be missed - and admired - for taking on this new, great adventure! You might take a look at the 435 Indio Way project in Sunnyvale that SHARP Development worked on. New Buildings Institute has a good case study -
